Estate Sale FInds

I was at an amazing Estate Sale yesterday with Colleen (and I returned again today with Gage) that had me weeping with nostalgia. This could have been my grandparents house. There were vintage Scouting items, tons of lapidary stones, minerals and tools, and native american dance costumes, books and decor, even old teeth. I also got two brownie kodak cameras, a lovely globe, a crock, and these amazing BSA spats...I have no use for these stones, but my memories of my Grandpa's basement are now mixed in with my memories of Gage and I searching and choosing these beautiful pieces. That is worth the $15 with no doubt.

19 and counting

I now have 19 foundlings completed. I have six days to make six more. But today I am taking 11 of them to Thread. I know people fall in love with them when they can hold them, so hopefully I will have some sales.

These icicles are all gone now. One day of 50 degrees and sunshine will do that I guess!

We rarely have sun in the winter here in Rochester. Yesterday it was streaming through the window around 4:30 and I ran to get my camera.

In loving Memory of Sandee Dog

Sandee was 16 1/2 years old. Her life on this earth ended yesterday. My mom and dad got her when I was pregnant with Gage. We used to commiserate about sleepless nights and taking care of a new born. She was such a sweet girl, a little snappy to strangers, but that is her job isn't it?

I just love this cat! He sleeps like a dead cat. Nothing will wake him, when he does wake up, blinking his eyes for a few minutes, he looks around wondering where he is.

Can't believe its Friday

Last Friday we were at my parent's house in Malvern, Pennsylvania. Aster wanted to take some pics across the street in this spring house that I used to play in all the time. There is a central cement walking path but the water level was to high to go in. It was still a beautiful set for photography but we could have made some awesome pics if she would have gotten her feet wet. Aster got these furry bots at The King of Prussia Mall and she thought that the texture would be interesting against the old cement. Which was a great idea but I wanted her to go into the water, maybe in the summer we will do something involving the frogs.

I am feeling a little bit better today - able to photograph and post at least. I actually have 5 sales to get to the post, but I am not sure I want to go wait in line with a hacking cough and runny nose. One goes to Australia and two to Canada - They can wait another day.

Here are some new posts to the vintage chapter of my Etsy shop.
This image above is from a first impression of the 1933 Girl Scout Handbook. I love this book, but have not found too much use for it.

sick in bed

I visited family in Phila and came home with a new cold on top of an old sinus infection. I have hardly left my bed. But I have been able to knit once in a while and photograph some vintage finds for Etsy. I played around in Photoshop on a number of thread pics -This Brownie sold right away!
